Monopole™ Battery

Energy storage technology has always been the key to the evolution of independent solar energy systems. At Scotia® we have worked with partners to develop state of the art battery technology tailored to the requirements of our Monopole systems.

Scotia® Powerpack batteries are specially designed as slim, robust units for housing inside the masts. Four different battery technologies can be deployed: Lead Crystal (LC), Lithium Titanate (LTO) Lithium-ion + Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) and Lithium iron (LiFe).

Power packs are combined in “Atoms” of up to six units and are housed and shipped inside the Monopole mast. Scotia® will design the battery configuration for your project according to the following criteria :

  • Predicted PV yields with variations according to seasons and weather patterns
  • Lamphead specification
  • Hours of darkness requiring light coverage
  • Period of battery autonomy desired or necessary
  • Dimming profile if applicable
  • Secondary power requirements; e.g. charging points, cameras, information display
  • System type: Cell or Connect
  • Operating temperature
  • Site and Logistics
